Is Gal Gadot still at DC after Wonder Woman 3 cancellation? James Gunn makes it clear... sort of

After Henry Cavill's dismissal as Superman, the fanbase fears the worst with the rest of the Snydeverse cast.

Is Gal Gadot still at DC after Wonder Woman 3 cancellation? James Gunn makes it clear... sort of

Things are heating up in the DC cinematic universe. If at the beginning it was all cheers for the decision to put James Gunn (main responsible, among other things, for the Disney/Marvel success of Guardians of the Galaxy) in charge of the superheroic division at Warner, things soon changed with the first cancellations of projects (with Michael Keaton's Batman at the forefront), and notable layoffs.

Goodbye to Henry Cavill but what about Gal Gadot?

The compliments became torches with the dismissal of Henry Cavill in his role as Superman. The beloved actor said goodbye to his audience on social media by confirming that he was hanging up the cape. That said, the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 set off all the alarms.

James Gunn has dealt with the hatred triggered in social media by sometimes replying directly to the fans, which we don't think is a good idea. Whatever the case, they knew what they were up against in the face of such intense fandom, something they have now responded to via their Instagram account.

Minority or not, what is certain is that it is loud. Gunn makes it clear that the characters are above the actors who play them. They've been around for a long time in the comics - nearly 85 years - and he defends the choices they make because they are made with a conscience.

But in all this, what's going on with Gal Gadot? In direct response to a fan who took it for granted that Gal Gadot was already out of DC, Gunn responded:

"I'm not sure where you're getting that we "booted" Gal."

James Gunn

Enough to calm things down? The answer is certainly not a resounding yes. For now, we'll have to stick with the intention to "create a wide and wonderful future for DC." To which we add: "With Gal Gadot, please".
