Update:
Hugh Jackman reveals when Deadpool 3 takes place compared to Logan

One of the big news in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the confirmation of Hugh Jackman's participation in Deadpool 3, reprising his role as Wolverine. The Australian-born actor had already warned some time ago that he would not return to play the famous mutant, but his excellent relationship with Ryan Reynolds seems to have paid off and he will once again don the adamantium skeleton and claws.

However, the third solo installment of the character was very conclusive, so the mystery of the temporal location of Deadpool 3 was present, something that Jackman himself has solved. According to what he said, it will take place during the same time frame as the first two Wolverine installments, that is, it will be before Logan, revealing that James Mangold, director of that one, has reacted positively to the news.

"He was actually really cool about it," Jackman has said of how Mangold responded. I did tell him that it took place before our movie, so I wasn’t gonna screw with the claws popping out of the grave. So he was relieved by that, and he totally got it. He thought it was a good idea."

Jackman changes his mind: he will return as Wolverine

"None of us wanted to screw with that. I was really proud of that movie (Logan) and what we did, and it felt perfect. And actually, for five years," continues the Australian. "It was August 14, I remember driving and it just came to me like that. I just thought this would be so much fun. I’ll probably have more fun on that movie than anything I’ve ever done."

Meanwhile, we don't have many details on Deadpool 3, nor how it will relate to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or 20th Century Fox's X-Men films. In fact, Reynolds has already anticipated that the film will take place at a time he never even imagined himself.
