Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirms release date on Disney+

Disney has revealed the exact date when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will arrive on its streaming service. After some rumors that pointed to a January 20 date, the update of the movie's page within Disney+ has revealed that we will be able to enjoy it on February 1, despite the fact that Ryan Coolidge's film is still showing in some theaters.

So far, Disney has not had an exact time period in which its Marvel movies will come to Disney+ and it seems that these will increase each time. The wait time between the theatrical release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and its arrival on Disney+ is 83 days, the longest wait to date. The previous record was held by Thor: Love and Thunder which arrived on the platform on September 8, 62 days after its July 8 premiere. The movie with the shortest wait time had been Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which only took a total of 45 days to arrive on the streaming service.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the latest big release from Marvel Studios, and stands as one of the highest-grossing films of last year with $820 million grossed so far. Despite its success, Marvel has not yet confirmed a third installment of the character.

A great success whose continuity is not assured

"We really want to see how audiences receive the film, and I think Ryan's really interested to see how the film plays before we decide," his producer, Nate Moore, would say in November in an interview. "There are certainly ideas we've floated around of what a third film could be if we get to make it. But until the movie comes out, we're a bit superstitious in that way. We don't want to count our chickens, because you never know what's going to happen."

Not only did it triumph at the box office, as critics were also benevolent towards Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, achieving a not-inconsiderable 85% on Rotten Tomatoes after more than 150 reviews.
