The voice and motion capture actor for the spartan in the most recent God of War games has offered to play Kratos in the Amazon Prime Video adaptation, ahead of Dave Bautista.

Update:
Christopher Judge, Kratos in the video games, wants to star in the God of War tv series

Ever since the announcement of the coming live-action God of War series under production by Amazon, many have been wondering who’ll be the actor tasked with giving life to its larger-than-life protagonist, Kratos, a character that will soon turn 20 years old since his debut on the PS2 and that quickly became an icon of the video game industry. Many fans have proposed their dream candidates with names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Chris Hemsworth, and many other burly guys of Hollywood. What they didn’t expect, however, is for the cator who currently voices and does the motion capture for Kratos in the most recent titles of the PlayStation Studios franchise, Christopher Judge, to put his name up on social media to become Kratos in live-action.

Kratos-pher Judge, the ghost of Sparta

Judge has recently made a name for himself thanks to his amazing work in the role of Kratos both in God of War 2018 and its direct sequel, God of War: Ragnarok. The actor has lent his voice and movements to Sony Santa Monica to bring a new characterization of the hero to life. This past December he even received the Best Performance award for God of War: Ragnarok during The Game Awards 2022, for which he had also been nominated on the previous game.

With all of this in the background, Judge didn’t hesitate to offer himself up as the actor to play Kratos in the coming live-action series by Amazon Prime Video. He even cited an article published by Comicbook in which they ask for Dave Bautista to play the spartan in the little screen: “and it’s been said I can’t read a room”, he said in a joking manner. A few minutes later he posted another message: “Don’t get me wrong, I think @DaveBautista is great, but…” once again pointing at himself as the best option.

This wouldn’t be the first time Christopher Judge speaks up in this way, when talking about the possibility of playing Kratos in a God of War series or movie, just like when Triple H, the WWE wrestler, was considered by fans as the perfect casting for a hypothetical live-action. Be as it would, Christopher Judge has the voice, the poise, and the presence to be Kratos. So who will make it happen?
