Chivas signs with Konami as official Partner for eFootball

This Partnership includes the sponsorship of Chivas Esports, the official eSports division of Club Deportivo Guadalajara

Update:
Chivas signs with Konami as official Partner for eFootball

Today, Konami announced a partnership with Guadalajara Sports Club, which means Chivas will officially be part of eFootball. This partnership includes the sponsorship of the Chivas Esports Team, as well as the integration of the brand on the official team jersey, as well as the content and advertising of the ChivasTV brand.

What will Konami's partnership with Chivas bring?

The name of the team, the crest and the official uniforms of the “sacred flock” will be exclusive to eFootball, this means that the Japanese video game will be the only one to feature one of the biggest teams in Mexico. However, the entire roster of the team will be faithfully recreated in the game by the talented game artists and designers using their well-known specialized 3D scanning technology, which they have already applied to the Club America players.

This partnership also seeks to bring a global audience to one of the most important teams in Mexican soccer, as well as live in-person events in Akron Stadium, House of Chivas.

“We are excited to partner with KONAMI, an iconic video game developer with a long-established presence in the global soccer business, with our family,” said Amaury Vergara, president of the Guadalajara Sports Club. “Through this partnership, we will connect with all generations of fans through multiple avenues of engagement and continue to fuel the unwavering passions of our fanbase while increasing our global visibility through the platform of eFootball™”.

Don’t forget that in February 2022 KONAMI announced its exclusive license agreement with the BBVA MX LEAGUE, this new deal adds another one of the iconic Mexican soccer teams.

"Chivas has very strong values and a unique vision to grow the sport in Mexico. We appreciate and admire this very much," said Yuta Kose, president of Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. “Our initiative is to give Mexican soccer the prominence it has never had before for its fans at the national level and for the entire global soccer community. Guadalajara Sports Club is a perfect partnership for all soccer fans.”

eFootball is the soccer video game platform from the creators of Pro Evolution Soccer and Winning Eleven. It is free and available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, iOS, Android and PC
