Galaxy S23 Ultra: productivity, gaming and next level performance

Samsung started off by showing off the new “Pro-Grade” camera of the S23 Ultra. This time we’re talking about awe-inspiring technology that mixes the best in hardware and software with AI solutions that help create brighter, sharper images. With 5 lenses that work in unison when shooting, the S23 Ultra includes a new Adaptive Pixel 200 MP sensor that manages to capture an enormous amount of detail, from long range panoramic photos to the close up imperfections of a surface. When working together, all five lenses are capable of shooting video in 8K at 30 FPS. As if that wasn’t enough, their front facing camera introduces a fast autofocus feature and their first “Super HDR” selfie camera, as well as video in 60fps.

Bringing back their “Nightography” term from last year, Samsung also showcased the low-light functionality of their new phone: this new camera array can capture a higher level of light even at night to create bright images in every situation. The Galaxy S23 series optimizes photos and videos in a wide range of ambient conditions, correcting the visual noise that is common in low-light photos by using a new AI ISO (Image Signal Processing) algorithm that enhances object details and color tone. It’s even capable of identifying and separating objects in a picture from the background and foreground of an image to improve depth and detail.

Samsung revealed that, to prove how amazing their new cameras are, they worked alongside directors Ridley Scott and Na Hong-Jin to shoot entire films using the Galaxy S23 Ultra as their main camera. Scott created created a short titled “Behold”, to be released soon, in which he showcases the professional capabilities of the device. Hong-Jin created an action packed short titled “Faith”, which was filmed in extremely dark sets to demonstrate how the size of the phone and its low-light capabilities would be able to change the film industry by themselves.

Samsung also worked with Qualcomm to optimize their phone with the brand-new Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, the most powerful and efficient platform ever in a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and the fastest Snapdragon processor available today.

Their newly designed CPU micro-architecture boosts the processing power of the Galaxy S23 series by about 30% when compared to their previous iteration, the S22 series. This new chipset is not only what allows for a pro-grade camera experience, but also what allows it to have some great performance during all of its tasks.
