Rockstar Games has already patched the recent vulnerability in GTA Online, the popular multiplayer mode of GTA V, in its PC version. A dangerous security hole that put both the game and players' personal information at risk of hackers. The company announced this through a publication on its official channels, confirming the release of a new patch that solves this recent and controversial setback.

GTA Online: New Patch 1.66 available for PC

Rockstar Games has announced that a new patch has been implemented to fix a security vulnerability that could have allowed a third party to gain access to players' personal information, compromising their profile, game, and even sensitive banking information.

"Implemented a new data protocol in GTA Online to improve the security of network sessions and player-to-player messaging," reads part of the official notes for this new GTA Online for PC patch 1.66. "Fixed an issue that could result in a player’s GTA Online experience being modified by a third party, including altering GTA$ balance, RP level, Bad Sport status, and other player stats," the notes continue.
