Update:
Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 now has a release date, episode list

Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 has set a date in the calendar for its release on Disney+. The second part of this anthology of stories from the galaxy far far away will debut this May 4, 2023. These animated shorts will deepen the universe with the creative perspective of a new batch of international studios, this time spread around the entire world.

Who are the studios behind Volume 2?

In total, there’s 9 studios that worked on the shorts for Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, amongst which you can find El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Aardman (UK), Punkrobot (Chile), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), Triggerfish (South Africa), and D’art Shtajio (Japan).

We also have the name of each episode, as well as what studio worked on which shorts:

  • Sith – El Guiri
  • Screecher’s Reach – Cartoon Saloon
  • In the Stars – Punkrobot
  • I Am Your Mother – Aardman
  • Journey to the Dark Head – Studio Mir
  • The Spy Dancer – Studio La Cachette
  • The Bandits of Golak – 88 Pictures
  • The Pit – D’art Shtajio and Lucasfilm Ltd
  • Aau’s Song – Triggerfish

“The reaction to the first volume of Star Wars: Visions blew us away. We were delighted that this project inspired and resonated with so many people,” explained James Waugh, executive producer of the project and Senior Vice President of Franchise Content & Strategy at Lucasfilm. “We always saw Star Wars: Visions as a framework for celebratory expressions of the franchise from some of the best creators working today. Animation is in a global renaissance, and we’re constantly staggered by the amount of creativity pushing the medium forward.

Waugh also pointed out the stark contrast between both volumes of the project: “With Volume 1, the imaginative minds of Japan’s anime industry were on full display. With Volume 2, we expanded our canvas to take audiences on a global tour of some of the most talented creators from around the world. We’re so proud to be able to reveal the line-up of studios we’ve assembled. Every short is incredible, full of heart, scope, imagination, and the values that make stories distinctly Star Wars — all while opening up bold new ways of seeing what a Star Wars story can be.”
