The next Call of Duty will be a new Modern Warfare, according to Bloomberg

Jason Schreier has unveiled a multitude of details about the next title in the Call of Duty franchise, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games.

Update:
The next Call of Duty will be a new Modern Warfare, according to Bloomberg

Today we have to talk again about one of the most popular franchises in recent times - practically of the last two decades -, although for different reasons.Call of Duty next installment was just heavily detailed by journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, who assures that It will release once more with the Modern Warfare subtitle.

It would be the first time Activision Blizzard decides to continue a subseries in consecutive years, but it seems this is happening because of the size of an expansion that Sledgehammer Games was in charge of, which became so big that they have decided to release it as a full game. In fact, although it is basically a separate game, it will also feel like an expansion of the Modern Warfare 2, and what's more, it will continue with the modes and maps that it has at the time of launch this fall.

Big changes for the series’ calendar

At the plot level, the campaign will continue the events that occurred in Modern Warfare 2 in which, as we remember, ends with a monumental surprise. Despite all this, it is not likely that this next installment will end up being called Modern Warfare 3, nor is it clear whether it will be released at full or reduced price, given that we are talking about something that was originally intended as an expansion.

Meanwhile, at Sledgehammer Games they seem to be more satisfied with the development time of this game, or rather, with the help they have received. While some members of the studio - as well as some former members - allege that the development of Call of Duty: Vanguard was intense and exasperating, which resulted in disappointing results for the company, this time they are more satisfied. As can be read in Bloomberg, this time they have received more help from the other studios that are in charge of Call of Duty, mainly Treyarch and Infinity Ward.
