The Super Mario Bros. Movie is moving up its release day around the world
Universal Pictures and Nintendo surprise fans by announcing that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is changing its global release in theaters to an earlier date.
There have been some changes in The Super Mario Bros. Movie schedule: The Illumination and Nintendo animation film will lead us down the pipeline sooner than expected. This was announced by Universal Pictures both on its website and on official social media accounts, where it confirmed the movie would now release a couple of days earlier.
“Wahoo! The #SuperMarioMovie is moving from April 7 to April 5 in the US and in more than 60 markets around the world. The movie hits theaters in additional markets in April and May, with Japan opening April 28.”
Characters, Nintendo’s greatest strength according to Miyamoto
In a recent interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the characters created by the company are Nintendo's greatest strength. The Japanese creative highlighted the importance of using them in different types of media beyond just games. “If there is a business opportunity, we’d certainly love to explore it. But Nintendo’s a company with many different talents involved,” he added.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will have Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario himself. He is joined by Anya Taylor-Joy (Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Keegan-Michael Kay (Toad), Jack Black (Bowser), Seth Rogen (Donkey Kong), Fred Armisen (Cranky Kong), and Khary Payton (Penguin King). As well as Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek).
