Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s latest update brings a bug that deletes your save files
A new problem introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s latest update is capable of deleting player’s save files, seems to be related to DLC and connectivity.
The launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has not been easy. Not so much at the sales level, which has swept as usual in the franchise, but because of the game's performance itself. Bugs and errors have not gone unnoticed, so Nintendo has promised to keep updating it with improvements. The problem is that as reported by Kotaku, the most recent patch has caused a terrible bug: the deletion of save data.
What‘s going on with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Some followers have warned on Reddit that their game has disappeared after connecting the game with the Pokémon GO app. Others have claimed that the issue has been triggered by downloading DLC content. It doesn't seem like there is a single cause for this, with one person reporting that their game was deleted while purchasing DLC, while another managed to send a few postcards before the save files were deleted.
Although the bug has only affected a small amount of people so far, in theory it could affect anyone, so maybe it's better to wait for Nintendo to release a new patch. Just in case.
Losses of Shiny Pokémon and other errors have happened since the arrival of the patch. Meanwhile, a user has stated that they have contacted Nintendo customer service. After being informed that they would investigate the case, their ticket was closed. At the moment, neither Nintendo nor The Pokémon Company have released an official statement.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet went on sale last November exclusively for Nintendo Switch. It will be expanded soon with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Expansion, which will have two installments: the first, The Teal Mask, will be available in the fall; the second, The Indigo Disk, will be released in winter.
