House of the Dragon confirms how many new dragons we’ll see in Season 2

The successful Game of Thrones Spin-off, House of the Dragon, won’t be returning this year, so we’ll have to wait until 2024 to enjoy the Targaryen fight.

Update:
House of the Dragon confirms how many new dragons we’ll see in Season 2

The title itself says it: House of the Dragon has a lot to do with dragons, more specifically with the family that rides them, the Targaryens. And while we already saw the beasts in action in the first season of the series, everything seems to indicate that in the second one, they’ll actually have to dance, and not in the musical sense of the word. Ryan County, showrunner of the series, has confirmed that there will be five new dragons, as reported by Deadline.

The Game of Thrones spin-off, whose production will begin soon, will continue the story of queen Rhaenerys Targaryen, just after what happened at the end of the first season. Based on the book Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin, the HBO show adapts the novel more or less freely, so the story branches off in different directions.

Be that as it may, it will all come together eventually in the Dance of the Dragons, a fratricidal fight that will face the two sides of the Targaryen family: on the one hand, the faction of Rhaenyra (wearing black), who have been dispossessed of their rightful throne; on the other, that of King Aegon (wearing green). The clash is inevitable, the result? Death, death, and more death in the Seven Kingdoms.

When does the second season of House of the Dragon premiere?

The CEO of HBO Max, Casey Bloys, has confirmed that the second season of House of the Dragon will debut sometime in the year 2024. The exact date is not known, but the manager has suggested that the show will not be eligible for that year's Emmys. Since that period ends on May 31, the new season won't arrive until June at least.

The first season of House of the Dragon is available on HBO Max.
