Update:
The Power Rangers reunion on Netflix now has a premiere date, and its first trailer is pure nostalgia

Netflix has just released the first trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, which as expected, is a stab of nostalgia for all of us who grew up with the characters. In addition, the platform has also confirmed the release date of this special, which will premiere next April 19, 2023 and will serve to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Zords pilots. Check out the trailer below:

Once & Always will bring back many of the original cast members, including Steve Cardenas (Rocky, Red Power Ranger), Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam, Black Power Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha, Yellow Power Ranger), Catherine Sutherland (Katherine, Pink Power Ranger) and Barbara Goodson (who will return to voice Rita Repulsa).

Some of them have gone 28 years without donning the suit, and this time they will do so for an episode whose length is not yet known, but the synopsis is: "The Rangers come face-to-face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs."

Suicides and arrests, the drama behind Power Rangers

The Power Rangers special was filmed before the suicide of Jason David Frank, who played the Green / White Power Ranger in the original series, and it remains to be seen if he cooperated with the reunion and if his scenes were retained. And those who seem confirmed to be gone are John St. Austin (who once played the Red Power Ranger, but was recently arrested for defrauding the government with bogus COVID-19 grants) and Amy Jo Johnson (who asked Netflix for more money and was left out of the company's plans). "For the record, I never said no. I just didn't say yes to what was being offered. But there is more fun to come! I look forward to watching my friends kick ass," she explained.
