The Hylian Shield is back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s the most powerful shield in the game and best of all, we can get it shortly after completing the initial area. In this guide, you’ll be able to learn how and where to get the Hylian Shield.
How to get the Hylian Shield in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Before you can get the Hylian Shield in Tears of the Kingdom, y ouneed to have completed the following:
- Complete both the prologue below Hyrule Castle and the Great Sky Island, with the first four shrines. This means that you’re able to descend from the sky to the Kingdom of Hyrule.
- (Optional): get the Paraglider. It will help us move around the stage.
The Hylian Shield is located in the docks just below Hyrule Castle, on its northwestern part.
Once you arrive at the marked point, you will see that there is an entrance to a cave. This is where you access the Docks.
What you have to do here is enter until you get the notification that we are at the Docks, and then go up the stairs. Advanced enemies may appear; in this case it’s better to back off until they disappear and waiting until you are sure that they do not come out again. Avoid the gloom at all costs.
After you go up the second stairs, you arrive at a place where there are several torches and a brazier. Set fire to the brazier, and a chest containing the Hylian Shield will appear.
The Hylian Shield is the best one in the game. Its own description tells us that it surpasses any other shield in defense and resistance. And you have to believe it: it has 90 defense.
