After rumors appeared about the future of Halo pointed at 343 losing development and receding into only management, insiders have openly denied the idea.

343 Industries dev clears the rumors about the future of Halo games

During the past few days, rumors started making the rounds through the internet that suggested that 343 Industries was no longer going to be directly involved with the next Halo game. However, now a couple of insiders have come forward to deny these rumors, including a journalist and an actual developer from the studio.

The rumor suggested that, going forward, 343 would no longer handle the development of the Halo series, instead handling only the conceptual and pre-production stages of future titles before “outsourcing” the actual development to external studios. The rumor gained quite a bit of strength as it came from a Halo Infinite community member, Bathrobe Spartan, who claimed to have spoken to at least 12 people involved in the situation.

All in all, the rumor proposed that the studio had shifted to “a new production method,” which would imply many layoffs from production positions and only maintaining leading employees to work on the concepts. Fortunately, this has now been debunked completely.

The future of Halo remains at 343 Industries

While not directly related to 343 Industries, Windows Central’s Jez Cordon pitched in on the conversation about 343 losing the halo franchise by confirming that the rumor is entirely false. “Checked into latest xbox rumor going around that ‘343i isn’t going to develop halo games’ and instead only ‘oversee’ them,” he wrote. “False af in case you believed it”.

“Studio has hundreds of employees and loads of open positions,” he continued. “Pretty big team if all you’re doing is overseeing.” This started a wave of support from other insiders, which went from an actual 343 Industries employee calling the situation “wild” in a joking matter, and even a renowned Halo Infinite leaker.
