50 forgotten games Xbox Backward Compatibility needs to bring back to be perfect
With Microsoft doubling down with a new team focusing on growing their library of backward compatible titles for Xbox Series X|S, here are some which have been forgotten by time.
Great news for retro game lovers, if 2010 can be considered retro already. Three years after announcing the last 76 backward compatible games on Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft has formed a new team working on resurrecting and helping to preserve all those forgotten titles in the trunk of memories. As revealed by Jez Corden exclusively for Windows Central, the division’s current president, Sarah Bond, sent the following message to her employees a few weeks ago:
“We have formed a new team dedicated to game preservation, important to all of us at Xbox and the industry itself. We are building on our strong history of delivering backwards compatibility to our players, and we remain committed to bringing forward the amazing library of Xbox games for future generations of players to enjoy.”
That’s why today we decided to give some ideas to Bond and her new team. These are 50 games, some of them amazinggems, that while in their day were considered hits and beloved by fans they were still left out of the Xbox backwards compatible catalog. Names that should be a priority and that deserve not to be lost in the dusty vaults of memory.
