A change to GTA 6 radio stations is on the way, a music producer suggests
GTA’s music revolution on the way?

One of the aspects that has made Grand Theft Auto one of the most impressive titles is its music. Whether it’s the vibrant 80s music in Vice City or the eclectic music of GTA IV, getting into a car and listening to some of the different radio stations has become an important part of every player’s experience. And while GTA Online introduced some major changes to the music aspect, the highly anticipated GTA 6 may feature one of the game’s most important evolutions.
Will there be more dynamic radio stations in the future?
During the New Rory & Mal podcast, one of the guests was Grammy-winning rapper and producer Jermaine Dupri, who gave some fresh information about the upcoming GTA. According to what was revealed, artists like Drake could have their own radio station within the game, allowing their music to be listened to as if it were a streaming service.
“They asked me to do Grand Theft Auto, and they were saying like Drake got his own radio station on Grand Theft Auto,” Dupri said during the podcast. “The way that they [are] getting ready to do it is that Drake can actually upload music that we probably ain’t never even heard online or wherever else, on that video game.”
It should be noted that Dupri never specifies GTA 6, but based on his description, it is evident that he is referring to the franchise’s upcoming version. Given that GTA 5 and GTA Online do not have a similar service, it would make little sense in light of the upcoming release in May next year.
A musical evolution
If these comments are true, it would be an important step in the way music can be in constant movement and growth in the franchise. Recall that in December 2021, through GTA Online, the singer Rosalía presented her Motomami album along with the MOTOMAMI Los Santos station. In the same way, Dr. Dre also participated in The Contract update, where he debuted his “stolen” songs.
