A Diablo IV player defeats Echo of Duriel in a 1vs1 fight between the boss and the seasonal pet robot

Diablo 4 might have been highly critiziced since its release, but there’s no denying that the game is fun. Season 3 of the game brought with it a fully customizable pet robot to the game, and in a showcase of how powerful it can be, one player managed to defeat the Echo of Duriel solo by letting his pet fight for him.

A streamer by the name of Wudijo shared a video on YouTube in which a player’s Seneschal Champion fighting the boss by itself, letting the customizable robot use its abilities to shred through one of the game’s biggest endgame challenges with relative ease. You can find the video below, but if you’re interested in what was done to let this little spiderbot be so powerful, the player in question explained that it’s a synergy between several skills.

The main skill being used is Governing Stone Firefly, which makes the bot shoot a firefly that explodes three times. This is modified with Tuning Stones Multishot Support (launch extra projectiles with each attack), Piercing Support (projectiles pass through multiple targets), and Seeking Support (projectiles home-in on enemies automatically). By doing this, each of his attacks launches multiple exploding fireflies that stay on the boss for almost their entire duration, dealing damage in the six-figure range and absolutely melting through Uber Duriel’s lifebar, all without the player actually having to attack the demon.

Diablo 4 seasons have been hit or miss so far

While the devs at Blizzard have not slowed down their pace when it comes to new seasonal content for Diablo 4, the audience’s reception of this post-launch content has been spotty at best. Now on Season 3, the previous seasonal updates had mixed results among the fans, with some critizicing the new content for most of it being superficial, or not engaging enough. Season of the Construct added the previously mentioned pet robot, but up until now most players felt it was an underpowered cosmetic addition to the game.

Others, however, have shown how powerful it can be, but at the same time how it can trivialize the main gameplay mechanics of the game by leaving players to simply avoid fights themselves and picking up loot. An official expansion for Diablo 4 is already in development, so we’ll have to wait and see how Blizzard chooses to expand on the game when it releases in the near future.
