A leak reveals the possible release date of Mafia: The Old Country on Steam
The latest chapter on the ‘Mafia’ franchise will arrive later this year.

It looks like the wait to dive back into the dark world of the Mafia might be shorter than we thought. A slip from 2K, the game’s publisher, has inadvertently revealed a possible release date for the franchise’s next title, ’Mafia: The Old Country‘.
Someone will sleep with the fishes for this slip?
Although this information is no longer available on the Steam page, several users managed to take screenshots of the message, which indicated a release date of August 8, 2025. It also mentions the possibility of pre-ordering the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It is likely that this date was planned to be announced during the game’s development panel at PAX East, which will take place on May 8 at 2:00 pm. “Watch as Hangar 13 developers debut a new gameplay trailer and offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at the past, present, and future of this storied franchise,” reads the panel’s official description.
‘Mafia: The Old Country’ was announced during the last Gamescom, and since then very little information has been released about the title. However, in August of last year, Hangar 13 studio confirmed some important details: “Mafia: The Old Country will offer voice acting in Sicilian, in inline with the game’s setting in 1900s Sicily. Additionally, Italian language localization will be available for both in-game UI and via subtitles.” Later, on December last year, a new trailer was revealed during The Game Awards.
The game promises a more authentic experience, immersing players in a story set in the early days of the Mafia with a carefully crafted setting.
