A Live-action Persona series is in the works at Netflix, according to reports

The streaming giant develops a new adaptation following the success of Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Video game adaptations for television show no signs of slowing down. Now Netflix is preparing a new adaptation—following the successes of ‘Arcane’ and ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’—that will bring the Persona universe to its screens.

According to sources at Variety, Netflix is developing a live-action series based on Persona. There is no mention of whether it will be based on a specific title. For now, it is known that Christopher Monfette is attached to serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series. Joining him will be Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood’s production company, 21 Laps, who will serve as executive producers alongside Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson of Story Kitchen. On the SEGA side, Toru Nakahara will also serve as an executive producer.

The Future of Persona

For now, the series is still in the very early stages of development, so it may be some time before we learn any concrete details about it. Since no script has been written yet, it’s also too early to say which actors might bring the characters to life in this series. Netflix declined to comment on the series.

Meanwhile, Persona already has a future. At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, part of Summer Game Fest 2026, Atlus and SEGA revealed what many fans of the franchise had been waiting for with the announcement of Persona 6. Like this live-action adaptation, few details about the game have been released so far, and a teaser filled with shades of red is all we have to go on.
