A Mad Max video game by Hideo Kojima? Director George Miller wants it to happen
Mad Max director George Miller has revealed that he’d like Hideo Kojima to make a game for the franchise “at the highest level”, and we’re all for it
We already have a fantastic Mad Max game to enjoy, but franchise director George Miller thinks that we deserve a better one. And he thinks that Hideo Kojima would be the best option to create a new Mad Max game “at the highest level” possible.
On the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ (via GAMINGbible), Miller was asked about the possibility of him being involved with a game inspired by the current version of his wasteland of road warriors and sand. Miller brought up the 2015 Mad Max video game, revealing that they gave all of the assets and designs to the developers, but that still it “wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be.”
“I’m one of those people that I’d rather not do something unless you can do it at the highest level,” he said. “But I’ve just been speaking to Kojima here, he came all the way from Japan to talk to me. If he could take on it! He’s got so much fantastic stuff in his own head that I would never ask him!. But if its someone like that that would take it on, because I couldn’t do it…”
Furiosa is releasing to critical acclaim
The world premiere of ‘Furiosa’ has already taken place in Cannes, and the first reactions and criticisms didn’t take long to arrive. Is it as good as ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’? Well, if we go by these reviews and its score on Rotten Tomatoes, the answer is clear: no. However, there is no need to throw up our hands, the prequel more than meets expectations and is worthy of the price of a ticket.
