A Pokémon Red and Blue remake with Octopath Traveler graphics? Yes please

HD-2D graphics are all the rage for RPGs with a classic feeling style, and now a fan has shown how they would look on the first generation of Pokémon games.

The HD-2D technique for making sprites pop is giving a second life to the legendary JRPGs of the 80s and 90s, either in the form of returning classics or new titles made to feel like them: Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, LIVE a LIVE, the upcoming Dragon Quest 3: HD-2D Remake… So naturally, now there are users imagining what other franchises we have never seen like this would be like, as is the case of a true legend such as Pokémon Blue and Red, the first generation of the monster capturing and taming game.

As you can see in the video below, the result is very pleasing to the eye. The level of detail is increased considerably and the characteristic style of the games that use this graphic style suits a saga like Pokémon really well. It’s a shame we can’t see what it looks like when it comes to fighting, since the special effects of the Pokémon’s attacks would surely be spectacular. Will it come true one day?

The hidden treasure of Area Zero: this is the DLC of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple

The first expansions of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be divided into two parts that will arrive in the fall and winter of 2023. Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk. Both will add large amounts of content in the form of new stories, characters, villains, places to explore, and Pokémon that until now have never been part of the games, as is the case with Terapagos.

In Part 1: The Teal Mask we will visit the land of Kitakami on a school excursion in an adventure that will take us out of Paldea, while in Part 2: The Indigo Disc we will transfer to the Blueberry Academy as exchange students.
