A script for 'Gladiator 2′ has Maximus fighting against Christ and in World War II

A madness written by musician Nick Cave that is hard to take seriously.

Gladiator 2′ is one of the most anticipated movies of 2024. The Ridley Scott-directed sequel recently released its trailer and looks even more spectacular than expected, but the movie could have been very different if it had followed the script written years ago by Australian musician Nick Cave. It is an absolute folly that would have made ‘Gladiator 2′ one of the most bizarre sequels in history, especially considering that the original film is one of the best in history and won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

What was Nick Cave’s ‘Gladiator 2′ about? Maximus was the protagonist again and is sent to earth with the mission to kill Jesus Christ. Yes, as you read, an absolute madness that goes on and on. The character played by Russell Crowe is punished to live forever and ends up fighting in the Crusades, the Second World War, the Vietnam War... He reaches the modern era where he gets a jobin the Pentagon. An absolute madness that, as strange as it sounds, would have sparked the interest of many people, and who knows if the demand to have seen this sequel and not the one that will be released next November 22.

‘Gladiator 2′, an unexpected sequel that aims high

More than two decades later, not many people have been waiting for the return of ‘Gladiator’ and from the hand of its original director, Ridley Scott. Now that the sequel is a reality and there are only a few months left to enjoy it in theaters around the world, we just have to wait and see if it lives up to the original work.

‘Gladiator 2′ has all the makings of one of the highest grossing movies of the year, and although we still have to wait a few months, its story is very different from the madness that Nick Cave posed. In Ridley Scott’s sequel, the synopsis reads as follows: “Years after witnessing the death of revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.”
