Star Wars

A ‘Star Wars’ fan sells his entire collection after 30 years for more than 6 million dollars: these are some of the items available

A life dedicated to the work of George Lucas.

There are works that change the history of a medium, they are few, very few, but practically none change the history of multiple media, and that was the case with ‘Star Wars’. George Lucas' saga, which began in 1977, created a fan phenomenon that had a huge impact on other industries, such as the toy industry, and confirmed among new generations a hobby as old as collecting.

Jeff Jacob is one of the people most influenced by Star Wars. Born just two years before the first movie was released, the Colorado native spent his childhood immersed in the iconic saga. At the age of 12, he gave away nearly every toy he owned, and it wasn’t until he was almost 20 that he decided to start a collection that is now worth millions.

‘Star Wars’ and an auction of high-value and antique items

Today, after more than 30 years of collecting, Jeff Jacob estimates that he has more than 5,000 Star Wars items with a total value of between $5 million and $7 million. Now, starting in January, Jacob will be auctioning off more than half of his collection, with such standout pieces as a 1978 Obi-Wan Kenobi figure in its original blister pack that is already selling for $50,000 with 20 days left in the auction.

What else is for sale? A large number of items that will be auctioned off gradually, and in which currently also highlights a set of 62 ‘Star Wars’ coins released in 1984 and that already currently the maximum bid is more than 9 thousand dollars.
