After the “The Day Before” fiasco, developer Fntastic is back with a new game asking for “a second chance”

Fntastic is back with a new Kickstarter, promising that their new game will be based on “honesty” and asking people for a second chance.

As much as we can expect anything in the world of video games, what we in no way imagined was that the creators of The Day Before have returned to the fray. After launching a completely broken game, then shutting it down, right before the studio was closed off and used the money from sales to pay off their debts, Fntastic is back with the intention of redeeming themselves and continuing in game development.

They have already launched a new crowdfunding on Kickstarter for what would be (if it goes ahead, which remains to be seen) their new game, Escape Factory, a casual proposal that has nothing to do with the infamous The Day Before.

Fntastic seeks forgiveness and money

Everyone deserves a second chance”, they say in their new X account. “We deeply apologize to everyone for The Day Before and take full responsibility for what happened. Check out our plan, Fntastic 2.0, where we share how we’ll fix our past mistakes and are preparing to return better.”

“Regaining trust will be tough, but we’re motivated to make more games if our Kickstarter succeeds,” they continue on the social network. “With its ‘all or nothing’ model, contributions will be refunded if we miss the target. We value your support, and all funds will go to development, not profit.”

After the disaster they were involved with last December, their plea is a little hard to believe. After launching a clearly unfinished game, they decided to close their servers and close the studio without returning the money for game purchases.
