Alan Wake 2 Update 1.15 Fixes Bugs, Makes Game Less Scary
If for some reason the terror of Remedy’s most recent title has left you reluctant to play it, its latest update is just what you need.
Alan Wake 2 has received the 1.15 update for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Among the new features is the option to reduce the horror in the game.
In its blog, Remedy Entertainment has announced the first update that its latest game, nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023, will receive this year. Among the adjustments that Alan Wake 2 will receive, we find the usual bug fixes, the new Chapter Select function (an option that its developers want to facilitate the possibility of finding all the collectibles, as well as being able to play the mission We Sing over and over again until you “annoy your neighbors”).
Along with this, we will also have the “much requested option to tone down the horror flashes,” which will allow us to choose the visual and audio intensity between Normal and Low.
Alan Wake 2′s latest patch notes
We won’t cover all of the patch notes for the game, but we will cover the topics mentioned above. First up is Chapter Select, which “allows you to choose to play any mission in the game that you have previously unlocked,” leaving “item progression and inventory” as predetermined aspects of each mission and also allowing you to keep your previous saves.
On the other hand, there is no specific description of how the horror flashes will be reduced, only that you will be able to adjust their intensity.
As for other sections in the notes, we have aspects that adjust aspects of gameplay and missions, from details in the New Game Plus, perspectives, explosions and resources in some missions. As well as a series of improvements in aspects of user interface, audio and haptics, visuals, and performance on both PlayStation 5, Xbox series, and PC.
