In the world of fighting games, Mortal Kombat has stood out for one main reason: its level of violence. Since its first release in 1992, arcades and home consoles have witnessed not only brutal punches and gore, but also its finishing moves. The Fatalities became the key element that immediately set it apart from other titles in the genre, which had exploded thanks to the success of Street Fighter 2. And historically, well, we owe them the creation of the ESRB rating. With over 30 years, more than 10 titles and several spin-offs under its belt, the level of gore and violence has only increased thanks to better graphics with each generation.

And although we are still waiting to get our hands on the game, the various tests that Mortal Kombat 1 has had have allowed us to get a glimpse of much of the content that we will have in the near future. Below we leave this compilation video showing all the Fatalities, X-Rays and Brutalities that have been released so far, reaching a total of 57.

Mortal Kombat 1′s Invasion Mode

Recently, while attending Gamescom 2023, we had the opportunity to take a look at Mortal Kombat’s newest mode, Invasion. In his preview, our colleague Borja Ruete said, “The first few minutes of the game are reserved for various battles in the boxes, which will give us the opportunity to progress, receive various rewards, and level up (with the consequent improvement of stats). According to NetherRealm, Invasion will feature six-week seasons that will introduce new content and challenges.” You can read the full preview here.
