Apple Event October 30: Everything announced at the Apple Scary Fast

After a 30-minute presentation, Apple shows off the new generation of Apple silicon with the new MacBook Pro and iMacs. Here are all the details.

With little notice and no live presentation, Apple took to the stage at Apple Park on Monday afternoon to unveil a series of product updates, including the new generation of Apple silicon with the new MacBook Pro and iMacs. We take a look at all the products unveiled.

The next generation of Apple Silicon

La nueva generación de procesadores de Apple fueron anunciados, los M3, M3 Pro y M3 Max. Estos son los primeros procesadores en utilizar la tecnología de 3 nanometros.

One of the first improvements offered by this new generation of processors is GPU performance, which is the biggest leap in its evolution. Improved dynamic caching for GPU utilization increases the performance of the internal GPU, enabling technologies such as mesh shading and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. With this new architecture, it has 2.5 times faster performance than the M1.

On the CPU side, we have 30% faster performance than the M1 family while maintaining battery performance. The neural engine performance is 60% higher than the M1.

New MacBook Pros

These new processors will power the next-generation MacBook Pro. The M3 chip will be available in the 14-inch MacBook Pros, the M3 Pro chip will be available in both 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, while the M3 Max will only be available in the 16-inch MacBook Pros.

In terms of performance, Apple promises that MacBook Pro models will have up to 22 hours of battery life, and unlike other laptops, all MacBook Pro models will perform the same whether they are running on battery power or plugged in.

The new MacBook Pro display is 20% brighter, now at 600 nits. And for those who are not sold on the usual colors, MacBook Pro with M3 Pro and M3 Max will also be available in Space Black.

Pricing starts at $1599 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro and $2499 for the 16-inch. Pre-orders begin today, with M3 and M3 Pro models available next week and M3 Max models arriving sometime in late November.

New iMacs

The 24-inch iMac models will also be updated with the M3, keeping its sleek design and 7 different colors. This version will start at $1299 and, like the MacBooks, is available for pre-order today and will be available next week.
