‘’Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ gets a streaming release date on Max, one last goodbye to the old DCEU

The last movie of the DCEU is a fair goodbye to the cinematic universe, and now we know when you can enjoy it at home.

The last movie of DCEU cinematic universe now has a release date on digital platforms. ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ will be available to stream from February 27, 2024 on Max, allowing Jason Momoa fans to see if the movie was as bad as the critics said. Although seeing what happened with ‘Madame Web’ and the current state of superhero cinema... there’s enough to complain about

One last hoorah! from Aquaman

Released in theaters on December 22, 2023, ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ closed the DC Extended Universe after ten years of ups and downs. And it did as such with much dignity and despite having dozens of factors against it, as we told you in MeriStation’s review, in which we say this about the film:

“Aware that he was facing a delivery that marked the end of the cycle, James Wan opted for an optimistic and not transcendent tone. He picked a formula that we have seen many times already in the cinema, that of two antagonists who must unite their destinies to achieve a common goal (a buddy movie) and chooses humor that is not always successful, but hinges between the numerous action scenes. The chemistry between Aquaman (Momoa) and his stepbrother (Patrick Wilson) is good, but it is far from the best couples of superhero movies, like Thor-Loki or Batman-Catwoman. The relationship is what makes the plot progress, although with the burden of a more than predictable ending.”

“The rest of the characters contribute little to a simple, linear story that lacks surprises. Wan has decided to go for what’s easy: these are not times to take risks in DC. Although everything seems to indicate that Gunn is going to make a clean slate with everything and not even Momoa himself is assured of his continuity, as the actor himself has clearly let slip, who here is comfortable in that mix of humor and brawn in which he is comfortable, as was already seen in ‘Fast X’.”

“This sequel to DC’s highest-grossing movie (yes, even above Nolan’s, although it may seem incredible) is a free verse within the Snyderverse that has all the ingredients to be entertaining, which is the least required of this type of film. It has a charismatic protagonist, a simple story, and some sequences that at times they come to fascinate. Their problem is that the ship arrives hit by the torpedoes of the previous films and will pay at the box office for the mistakes of others.”

Upcoming films from James Gunn’s new DC Universe

Now all that remains is to look to the future with optimism, as a new stage begins with the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ at the controls.
