‘Avatar 3’ begins filming this February, according to Sam Worthington
Actor Sam Worthington claims that the filming of ‘Avatar 3′ will start really soon, and teases that it’ll be much bigger than what fans expect.
After waiting 13 years to enjoy ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ since the premiere of the original, everything indicates that the wait will not be so long until the third installment arrives. James Cameron has reiterated on numerous occasions that he wants to make ‘Avatar’ a long-running saga, having already confirmed five movies, but for now, what we have to talk about is the third one, since Sam Worthington has confirmed that filming will begin very soon.
It will be specifically this coming month of February when Worthington, Cameron, and the rest of the ‘Avatar 3′ team - still without a definitive name - get to work, according to what the actor himself said. “We go back to work in a month and it’s big. It’s bigger than you can imagine” Worthington said to Deadline.
‘Avatar’ will be a franchise for many years
After dealing with COVID-19, the problem has primarily been the happily finished strike of actors and scriptwriters in Hollywood, with which both the ‘Avatar 3′ team and the rest of the productions have already returned to work. Cameron has previously talked about how the pandemic hit right in the middle of the production for ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, revealing that they had to start work over a couple of times and fight to be able to finish the movie. He also teased that the production of the fourth film, scheduled for release in 2029, will begin just as the third is released.
Today, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is positioned as the third highest-grossing film in history, with 2.32 billion dollars collected, surpassing ‘Titanic’, also by James Cameron, and behind only ‘Avengers: Endgame’... and ‘Avatar’. Indeed, Cameron boasts of having three of his films among the five highest-grossing films in history, with ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’ currently occupying fifth position.
