Baldur’s Gate 3 is so role-playing, it even lets you roll dice
The game from Larian Studios, which just came out of Early Access, is now available on PC, while the PS5 version will be released on September 6th.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game that captures the essence of Dungeons and Dragons like few others. Developed by Larian Studios, Baldur’s Gate 3 takes the player to the Forgotten Realms, a universe that makes you feel like you are in a role-playing game. As such, the main character and the rest of the characters evolve through complex choices that modify everything around them. The options are numerous, to the point that we sometimes have to roll the dice to activate certain conversation paths.
Depending on the type of character, we can use Perception, Intimidation, or the peculiarities of their class to explore possible new dialogues. One or two dice will then appear on the screen, which we must roll to match or exceed the number marked. If we have bonus items, we will be able to increase the odds, so... Try not to fail (or worse, roll a Nat 1). If you succeed, the conversation continues; if you fail, the conversation may go in unexpected directions.
Can I play Baldur’s Gate 3 with a controller?
It is enough to connect a controller to the PC to enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3 with this option. The adaptation is very well done, as not only does it present a very clean interface, but everything is handled through very comfortable and easy to understand radial menus.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available for PC. The PS5 version was originally scheduled for August 31st, but will finally be released on September 6th. As for the Xbox Series X/S version, Larian has hinted that it will not be released until the end of the year or in 2024.
