Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 now has a release date and comes with a slew of new subclasses and features
The final patch will bring new subclasses, cross-play and more expected features.

It’s been four months since Larian Studios announced that it was already working on a major patch for its Game of the Year 2023 title, Baldur’s Gate III. The wait has been long, and although Patch 8 has been in testing since December, fans of the game have still been waiting for a definitive release date... until now.
Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8 release date
Larian Studios has announced via its social networks that Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8 will be released next Tuesday, April 15. This patch will include a large amount of new content for the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired adventure: a total of 12 new subclasses (one for each class in the game), a photo mode, cross-play, and finally the long-awaited split-screen in the Xbox Series S version, among other new features. You can read all the details about the patch here. Also, to celebrate the release of this patch, the Larian team will be hosting a special stream on Twitch the following day.
While the news of an official release date was received with enthusiasm, it also marks a point of closure for the game. Since the announcement, Larian has made it clear that Patch 8 will be the last major update that Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive, marking the end of its development process. The studio can now move on to its next title, which will be a departure from both the Baldur’s Gate universe and the Dungeons & Dragons base.
For now, the big question is: what subclass will you choose for your next game? Tell us in the comments.
