Finally, after a year full of great games, some ignored and some that managed to sneak in, the decision has been made at The Game Awards. We have a winner in an extremely competitive and good year for games in general. Baldur’s Gate III by Larian Studios has taken the applause of the night, and with the most precious award of the event, the Game of the Year.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the GOTY 2023
Larian Studio has done an admirable job of bringing the Dungeons & Dragons experience to the gaming table (or even to those who played remotely during the pandemic). The narrative through a Dungeon Master-like voice guiding its players, the visible dice rolls, and the freedom to move forward in an adventure accompanied by a cast of well-written characters with better acting than your average night at the table with friends. An experience that shines on PC and that today, makes its debut on Xbox.
Larian Studio leaves with their hands full, taking home the awards in Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, and Player’s Voice and having the honor of receiving one of the most coveted awards in the gaming industry, The Game of the Year, at their offices in Ghent, Belgium.
