Bella Ramsey admits to being unprepared for THAT moment in The Last of Us Part II
The young actress talks about the most anticipated and dreaded moment for all fans of the saga.
Of course, with the end of the first season of The Last of Us on HBO, there is still a long way to go before the second season premieres, but it is inevitable that we begin to imagine what is to come. Bella Ramsey, who already anticipated an approximate date for its arrival, begins to think about the events that will come if we stick to what happened in The Last of Us Part II, and although Craig Mazin already anticipated that they do not feel tied to the original story, there is a moment that we all fear, including her. From here on, if you haven’t played the game yet, it’s best to stop reading because spoilers are coming.
The Last of Us Parte II Spoilers
The sequel to The Last of Us was divisive, even among fans of the series. Making Abby a playable character for almost half of the game was both a controversial and brave decision, but this particular moment was something that was even more controversial and something that many players didn’t like, even though it was something that was easy to imagine after finishing the game.
We are, of course, talking about Joel’s death at the hands of Abby herself, in an act of revenge that makes sense if you remember the end of The Last of Us. Will we “enjoy” this scene in the series? It’s something the cast is already openly talking about, and something Bella Ramsey is worried about. “If that does take place in the show, I don’t know that I’m emotionally ready for it,” the young actress admits.
“This should be fairly obvious to anyone by now, but I don’t fear killing characters,” said Craig Mazin, the series’ showrunner along with Neil Druckmann, who co-created the saga with Bruce Straley. “But the important thing to note is that neither Neil nor I feel constrained by the source material”
However, Pedro Pascal, who will continue to play Joel in the second season, although it remains to be seen for how long, is very clear about it. It will happen. “It wouldn’t make sense to follow the first game so faithfully only to stray severely from the path,” he warns. “So, yeah, that’s my honest answer.”
We will have to wait a long time to find out how this will end. It is estimated that the premiere of Season 2 of The Last of Us will take place in late 2024 or early 2025.
