‘Bleach’ could be getting a live-action movie produced by Warner Bros.
The live-action adaptation fever for manga and anime is finally going for another of the most popular Shonen series of all time.
‘Bleach’ is one of the greatest shonen manga of all time. The work of Tite Kubo remains very present today. Journalist and insider Daniel Richtman has published that Warner Bros. Pictures is working towards getting a live-action adaptation of the series, seemingly already looking for a writer and director for the project. If confirmed, it would be one more example of the enormous success that the world of manga is having in the film and television industry.
Those considered to be The Big Three of manga and anime, ‘Bleach’, ‘Naruto’ and ‘One Piece’, could all end up having live-action adaptations. Eiichiro Oda’s work is already a reality, a huge success for Netflix, which is preparing its second season. ‘Naruto’ will have a film directed by outstanding director Destin Daniel Cretton, so expectations are high. Only ‘Bleach’ remains to be confirmed, thus demonstrating that the West has the world of manga and anime among one of its priorities.
The ‘Bleach’ anime turns 20 years old
This September 16, an event will be held to mark the 20th anniversary of the ‘Bleach’ anime, which began airing on October 5, 2004 and on that same date the third part of its last arc will premiere in 2024: ‘Thousand -Year Blood War’. To commemorate its two decades, a special project is expected to be announced and confirmation of its live action could be a possibility. There are not many days left to find out what the future finally holds for Tite Kubo’s popular work.
