Update:

It’s no surprise that more anime is coming to theaters, whether as films that expand on what we see in our weekly episodes or as experiences that give us a first look at the latest anime sensation. A new anime is already more than ready to hit the big screen, and it’s Bleach.

Viz Media and Fathom Entertainment have announced that they will bring the first three episodes of ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity’ to the big screen. This arc is the fourth and final part of ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War,’ and will be shown in theaters for a limited time, from June 25 to 29, weeks before its television broadcast. The episodes will be available in both a Japanese version with English subtitles and an English-dubbed version. These episodes will include a behind-the-scenes featurette featuring chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi, series director Hikaru Murata, and series creator Tite Kubo.

“Anime fans are in for a thrilling experience as ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ wraps up its groundbreaking run on the big screen,” said Ray Nutt, chief executive officer at Fathom Entertainment. “Fathom has pioneered the theatrical experience for compelling, non-traditional content with built-in fanbases, and ‘Bleach’ fans are in for a treat with the first three episodes and exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from our friends at Viz Media beginning June 25.”

The Finale of a Highly Anticipated Series

Fans had to wait many years to finally see the manga’s conclusion adapted into an anime, covering the story arc spanning volumes 55 through 74. ‘Thousand-Year Blood War’ premiered in October 2022, with breaks in between. In the United States, these seasons were available on Hulu
