Borderlands 4 reveals its gameplay at The Game Awards 2024
Gearbox Software released the first full trailer for Borderlands 4 during The Game Awards 2024
After years of rumors, Gearbox revealed Borderlands 4, one of the biggest surprises at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live, the gala of the German expo that is also presented by Geoff Keighley, master of ceremonies of The Game Awards. The video game developed by Gearbox will release in 2025 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, and PC, as confirmed in the new trailer, which can be seen below.
It was already known that Gearbox’s looter shooter was going to be present at The Game Awards. The first teaser trailer barely showed the title and a couple of snippets of the project, but no gameplay. All in all, the developer has had a good gesture with a fan of the video game who unfortunately suffers from a terminal illness. It has allowed him to try out an early version of his new work.
Gearbox now belongs to 2K Games
Embracer Group paid $1.3 billion to purchase Gearbox, an operation that closed in 2021 and has not been fruitful. The conglomerate’s enormous investment in studies has culminated in the sale of some of its assets, including this company. It was Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of GTA and Borderlands, which decided to acquire Gearbox for 460 million dollars. In this way, it has been integrated into the 2K Games structure.
The Borderlands adaptation to the big screen has been highly criticized both from the media and from the viewers.
