The creators of GOTY 2021 are back: ‘It Takes Two’ studio announces ‘Split Fiction’

He is a regular guest at The Game Awards. Josef Fares, head of Hazelight Studios, was already expecting to be back at Geoff Keighley’s gala. What’s more, he announced at X the initials of his next video game, a new intellectual property called ‘Split Fiction’. In addition to confirming the name, the awards ceremony was the stage chosen to present the first official trailer, which shows that the developer is still interested in creating cooperative games. Their next production looks as good and will be released on March 6th for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.

A tradition of cooperative video games

Hazelight Studios specializes in cooperative games. Josef Fares started out as a film director, but moved into video games and created his first critically acclaimed title, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which he developed with Starbreeze Studios. After founding Hazelight, he signed agreements with Electronic Arts to publish his products under the EA Originals label.

If A Way Out was unanimously acclaimed, It Takes Two not only achieved similar success with critics and audiences, but also received acclaim and multiple awards. Not for nothing, the second game won the GOTY at The Game Awards 2021. It was also the most voted game in MeriStation’s internal voting. At the BAFTAs, on the other hand, it was Returnal that came out on top.
