Borderlands Unveils Final Trailer Just Weeks Before Release

It is time to fasten your seat belts and prepare your weapons.

Borderlands

Pandora and its vault hunters await us. Next August 9 will be the date when ‘Borderlands’, adaptation of the game by Gearbox Software will hit the big screen, in a movie that has a great talent on its hands. Without further ado, we leave you here the trailer:

The eventful journey for Borderlands

To say that bringing ‘Borderlands’ to the big screen has been uneventful would be a lie. It took a long time to get into pre-production, as initial talks began as early as 2015, but didn’t come to fruition until February 2020, with Eli Roth in the director’s chair and a script by Craig Mazin (though not THAT Craig Mazin of HBO’s The Last of Us fame). The first actress to be cast was Cate Blanchett in May 2020, with Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black confirmed almost a year later. After reshoots at the beginning of last year, it is satisfying to see that the release of this movie is getting closer and closer.

The adaptation takes elements from the first two games in the series and mixes them up to tell a familiar yet different story. But it’s clear that they’ve captured the ridiculous energy of the games, even if it’s through a Hollywood filter. Honestly, were we expecting anything other than potty and sex jokes, quirky characters and weird weapons?
