‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ returns with a new series and its leading lady is seen for the first time

An appearance with a very different style from the original series.

Sarah Michelle Geller

One of the TV series that stood out the most in the late 90’s and early 2000’s was ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. It aired from 1997 to 2003 and, after more than two decades, confirmed its return a few months ago.

We have already seen one of the first images of the filming of this new series, in which its protagonist returns to play the role of his life, more than 20 years later, which has generated great expectations, as it is one of the most watched productions of its time.

A series that is a classic of television

The return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer does not come by chance, as the pilot episode will be directed by Chloé Zhao, winner of the Best Directing Oscar in 2021 for Nomadland. Sarah Michelle Gellar returns as Buffy Summers in a sequel to the original series that looks to be a nexus of old and new to come. Expect old acquaintances and new characters to help connect with all types of audiences.

For the moment, no details are known about the plot, beyond the intention to bring back members of the original cast, despite their status. However, before the first images have already begun to emerge theories that place the protagonist in an important position of power within a company or as a recognized personality in the world of communication. For the moment, there is no confirmed premiere date for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale.
