Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is official, shows its first image and release date

The first major release of the series after its acquisition by Microsoft.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is already a reality, as confirmed by the franchise itself on social media. “A dark new chapter of the Black Ops. Call of Duty,” reads the message published on X (Twitter) by the official Call of Duty account, with a logo of Cerberus, in Greek mythology the dog of the god Hades, who is a three-headed monster, stamped on the U.S. Capitol on what is clearly a fifty dollar bill. Just yesterday we had the first teasers of what this new installment will be, with a group spreading the slogan “The Truth Lies”.

The game will be on display on June 9 after the Xbox Games Showcase (starting at 10:00 am PT), possibly at 12:00 pm PT in an event dedicated entirely to the new installment of the saga. This will be led by Treyarch and Raven Software, confirmed by the companies themselves on social media, in what will again be a co-development after having worked together on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the fifth installment that came out in 2020.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and the arrival of the franchise at Microsoft

Now, several years later, Black Ops returns with Activision as part of Xbox, being the first major release of the series since it was acquired by Microsoft. There is still no official confirmation, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 could be a launch title on Xbox Game Pass. We will have to wait until June 9th to know first hand all the details about the game.
