Call of Duty: Warzone was almost entirely broken by its latest update

The latest update for Call of Duty: Warzone has seemingly broken major aspects of the game for many players, leaving it basically unplayable at the start of Season 1 Reloaded

Bad news for players who were hoping to jump into Season 1 Reloaded of Warzone: the update that was meant to bring in all of the new features and stuff to the game has instead completely broken the game.

As a general tip, right now it’s highly recommended that players stay off the game and keep their eyes open for any updates shared by Raven Software or the official Call of Duty accounts, as right now the game is basically unplayable. While the new Season was meant to bring new maps, cosmetics, changes to Zombies and improvements to the anti-cheat system, streamers and players were met with dozens of bugs that crash their games and even bricks their consoles.

Most noticeably is a clip from streamer Fifakill, who first showcased a glitch that happens if you try to enter the “Create a Class” menu while playing. In it you can see the game slow down to a crawl and the player lose all control of the game, seemingly unfixable without a complete restart of the game.

Others have reported that the maps have also been affected, with strange geometry popping out of the ground of the map, which in turn directly affects gameplay. Other bugs have been found, like being unable to access Loadout Drops, missing notifications and effects for Airstrikes and mortars, the game completely breaking if players do grab a loadaout, and visual glitching on the new weapons.

The developers of Warzone, Raven Software, have since published a statement about the problematic Season update: “At the moment, the current state of the update does not meet our standards for quality and gameplay, and we are committed to addressing the issues promptly to ensure that all players can enjoy #Warzone to the fullest extent possible. Our goal is always to provide a smooth and seamless experience. "

The situation still continues at the time of writing, and there is currently no estimated time for when a fix could arrive to the game.
