Check out the stunning limited edition Ghost of Yōtei PS5 design

Sucker Punch’s immersion in feudal Japan extends to your console with designs inspired by traditional Japanese art.

Yesterday, during the State of Play broadcast focused on Ghost of Yotei, we got a glimpse of what Sucker Punch’s game will be like this year. After almost 20 minutes of reviewing in detail aspects such as the story and multiple gameplay mechanics, PlayStation surprised us with an extra detail. Ghost of Yotei will receive not one but two limited editions of PlayStation 5, and its controllers, on launch day.

What does the PlayStation 5 collector’s edition of Ghost of Yotei include?

These editions come in two different versions, the Gold Limited Edition Bundle is “inspired by the Japanese art form, kintsugi, a traditional process to repair broken ceramics with lacquer and gold.” This design seeks to symbolize “mirroring Atsu’s own personal journey of healing and resilience.” The Black Limited Edition Bundle “draws inspiration from another Japanese traditional art form, Sumi-e, which is the use of black ink on paintings.”

Both bundles, which are PS5 with disc drive, come with matching DualSense wireless controllers, as well as a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition, along with pre-order content, which includes “a unique in-game mask, as well as a set of seven PSN avatars with concept art of Atsu and each member of the Yōtei Six”.

Meanwhile, if you already own a PlayStation 5, and you’re interested in the Gold limited edition, you’ll be able to get the console covers and bring the kintsugi aesthetic to your console.

Pricing and availability

For now, none of the editions have a pre-order option, but PlayStation has already announced that they will be available in limited units on October 2.
