Christmas is coming to Warzone and Modern Warfare 3: new maps, Santa’s Slayground Event rewards
Season 1 of Call of Duty is getting ready to celebrate CODmas in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, with a new event and plenty of gifts for good operators.
Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 are right in the middle of Season 1, but with Christmas just around the corner it’s time to celebrate CODMAS inside the extremely popular FPS. The festivities will begin early with the upcoming CODMAS event that keeps a little bit of that spooky Halloween style with the arrival of Santa Gnaws, a new holiday themed abomination that’ll invade the game to hunt down Operators, all while new holiday-themed maps, modes, challenges, and rewards come to the game.
When does the CODMAS event begin?
CODMAS officially starts on Tuesday, December 19 at 10 AM PT, and will end on January 3, 2024 at 8 AM PT. In total, you’ll have 15 days to complete all of the challenges of the special event and obtain all of the rewards that will be available.
New Maps and Modes
While CODMAS won’t bring entirely new maps to the game, two of the most popular are getting Holiday transformations:

There will also be two limited-time modes coming during the event:
- Infectious Holiday: Play Infected in a lobby full of Santa Claus Operators. Infected players will transform into the Zombie Santa Skin. Combine cheerfulness with combat prowess to retain those rosy cheeks against the undead menace.
- Snowfight: This Gunfight mode brings the epic snowball battle back. Go toe-to-toe against another team and try to come out on top. Interact with snowballs on the map to restock your arsenal. Guarantee a one-hit kill with the Golden Snowball -- a rare item that spawns in the center of the map once per round.
Santa’s Slayground event and rewards
The Santa’s Slayground event will offer seven unique rewards that can be aquired by completing challenges across all three of the branches of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. While these challenges are different, you only need to complete one in any game mode to unlock its corresponding reward on all three of the gameplay modes.
Once you get al seven rewards, you’ll unlock the eight and final prize: The Ugliest Sweater DG-58 LSW weapon blueprint.
