Comparison of Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch and PS5: differences, graphics and FPS
The popular game of the Harry Potter universe arrives on Nintendo Switch several months after its release on other consoles of the current generation.
Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch is a reality, the outstanding video game set in the Harry Potter universe has finally arrived to Nintendo’s hybrid console in a version that looks really good. The differences with the PlayStation 5 version are notorious, of course, but Portkey Games has been responsible for creating a high-quality port that works best on Switch considering the limitations.
Differences between Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch and PS5
The developers of Hogwarts Legacy have put a lot of effort into making the best possible version for Nintendo Switch, one that runs natively on the console, and despite the necessary cuts that take away from the game in its PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions, the port looks really good. As we can see in the video above, there are some notorious changes with details and lighting that, although they look different, it helps for the game to continue moving as smoothly as the current generation versions. The PS4 and Xbox One versions came out a few months later than the current-gen versions, and performed really well (you can see the graphical comparison right here). It’s normal for the Nintendo Switch version to have compromises in resolution, texture quality, FPS, draw distance, and other effects, but for the time it took to release, Hogwarts Legacy aims to be as polished as possible on Switch.
In the review of the game by Meristation USA, we highlight that Hogwarts Legacy “is a title that manages to capture and present an important franchise in a way that takes great advantage of the capabilities of today’s consoles and PCs to deliver a truly magical title. The story is interesting and the use of spells and RPG elements make it engaging enough to want to roam the corridors and fields surrounding Hogwarts for a long time.”
