DC’s Lanterns unveils its central mystery in new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con

The latest footage explores the partnership between Hal Jordan and John Stewart while teasing the Manhunters’ return.

As expected during its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel, the upcoming DC Studios series ‘Lanterns’ unveiled a new trailer, which offers a fresh look at the relationship between John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and his legendary mentor Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), as well as the great mystery surrounding the Manhunters. You can watch the trailer below:

The trailer gives us more details about the situation, with Jordan training Stewart—though not in the best way. Along the way, they also uncover a murder, in which the victim may not be human, but actually an alien. The trailer also features a cameo by Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), as well as Sinestro. With its mix of mystery, conspiracies, and cosmic threats, ‘Lanterns’ aims to showcase a different side of the Green Lanterns and make its first season a key part of the new DC Universe.

HBO’s Green Lantern series expands the new DC Universe

Lanterns is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The series is co-created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, with Mundy serving as showrunner. James Hawes directs the first two episodes, while Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov direct later installments.

The cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Nathan Fillion, Chris Coy, and Paul Ben-Victor.
