Deadpool 3 director confirms some casting rumors are true

Shawn Levy does not specify which are true and which are not, but he assures that some of them are not far off the mark.

If the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already prone to show a lot of cameos, what can we expect from the one starring the most irreverent hero of the House of Ideas? Moreover, taking into account that Deadpool 3 has been postponed several months in the calendar of Disney due to a delay caused by the strike of writers and actors in Hollywood... The fact is that all this time only serves to raise a multitude of rumors about the star appearances that we will enjoy, among which has not missed even that of Taylor Swift in the role of Dazzler.

The fact is that Shawn Levy, the director of the movie, obviously cannot confirm or deny all these rumors, but he can comment on them and assure that some of them will come true.

“I love the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet, because I never have to say what’s real and what’s fantasy, so I’m just going to go with the very cliche ‘no comment’ on all things casting [with] Deadpool 3f,” Levy said in SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle Show. “A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them aren’t.

Deadpool 3′ will maintain the hooligan tone of the franchise

“You have two major movie stars together in a movie playing their most iconic signature roles — that is director heaven,” he mentioned earlier this fall to Collider, talking about the presence of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. “So the story, the tone, the movie itself leans into that gift of having Deadpool and Wolverine co-starring in a movie for the first time. So, we’re definitely not running away from that,” he concludes when asked about the tone of the movie, promising that it will still be packed with dark humor and extreme violence.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for confirmation on the approximate release date of ‘Deadpool 3′, which Levy himself can’t even give an approximation of. Speaking of rumors, the latest ones even suggest that it could be replaced in the calendar by ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ as its production is way ahead of schedule.
