Marvel Studios

Deadpool 3 has been removed from Disney’s release schedule, pointing at a delay

The actors’ and writers’ strikes in Hollywood continue, and now Deadpool 3′s release plans for the start of 2024 seem to have changed.

Update:
Deadpool 3

It’s been more than a month since we got our first hint of a possible delay of Deadpool 3, one of the films affected by the strikes of writers and actors in Hollywood, which has already claimed several victims. The third installment of the most popular Marvel antihero, now a part of the MCU and with the long-awaited return of Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine, is back in the news but unfortunately not for the better, since it has disappeared from the calendar of Disney’s upcoming releases.

When will Deadpool 3 be released?

In the image under this paragraph, you can see how Deadpool 3, at the moment known as Untitled Deadpool Movie, no longer appears on the calendar for the month of May, which was the date scheduled for its release. However, this has not affected the release of, for example, Inside Out 2, which was to be released a month later, but the support of Reynolds and Jackman to the strikes seems to have been the definitive trigger.

Deadpool 3
Full screen

Deadpool 3 was initially going to be released specifically on May 3, a plan that seems to have been entirely disrupted. As it stands the next theatrical release of the MCU is still The Marvels, set for November 10 of this year, but from there onwards everything is now a mistery since more films could be affected. In fact, productions like Blade or Thunderbolts have already been affected by this strike, although their premiere was already expected for the year 2025 and beyond.

Most likely, this Deadpool 3 delay will affect the rest of the productions, since Marvel will want to maintain a calendar and a chronological order that will now have to either keep delaying all other productions or be modified entirely. Luckily, we will have new productions in the form of series, since those scheduled to arrive soon at Disney + are still underway, like Loki Season 2, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
