Death Stranding 2’s wildest cameo yet: anime snuck into Kojima’s newest game

Kojima Productions has announced that Usada Pekora, the popular VTuber from hololive production, will appear in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach as a Prepper, one of the isolated characters who assist (or hinder) Sam Porter Bridges on his journey.

While Kojima is known for including celebrity cameos, few expected a VTuber crossover. The studio has teased her role in the game, leaving fans wondering:

• Will she offer a bizarre side quest?
• Will her bunker be filled with anime references?

A VTuber with 2.7M subscribers enters Kojima’s world

This unexpected collaboration fits perfectly with Kojima’s eccentric style. In Death Stranding, he featured Conan O’Brien, Geoff Keighley, Junji Ito, and other famous figures.

Now, with Death Stranding 2, he’s pushing boundaries even further, embracing Japanese internet culture with Pekora’s inclusion.
