Denzel Washington opens up about his life off-screen: “I’m tired of movies”
The actor makes it clear that he doesn’t watch any movies in his daily life.

An expert in a field is expected to be up to date with everything that is going on. A soccer player watches all of his rival’s games, a bricklayer looks at other people’s buildings... (okay, that last one was a joke). Denzel Washington doesn’t watch movies. He made that very clear in an interview with GQ. The actor wants nothing to do with films when he stops acting.
“I don’t watch movies, man. I really don’t”, he said in statements reported by Variety. “I’m just being honest with you! I don’t watch movies! I don’t go to the movies. I don’t watch movies. … I’m tired of movies. Yeah.“

Denzel Washington also hates awards
His rebellious streak with the industry he works in also extends to everything related to awards. He recently made it clear that he is “not” interested in the Oscars or anything else related to recognition. “I don’t do it for Oscars. I don’t care about that kind of stuff. I’ve been at this a long time, and there’s time when I won and shouldn’t have won and then didn’t win and should’ve won.“ And he concludes emphatically: ”Man gives the award. God gives the reward.”
The statements coincide with the promotional campaign for his latest work, ‘Highest 2 Lowest,’ in which he once again puts himself in the hands of Spike Lee. It is currently available in select theaters in the United States, but is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on September 5.
